Head of Finance and Operations
The Gaia Foundation are looking for a Head of Finance and Operations to join their small, busy office in London.
The Head of Finance and Operations will work in close collaboration with the director, treasurer and senior team members and is responsible for the Finance department, a cornerstone of the organisation. As well as Gaia's HR, IT, risk management and general operational systems, the Head of Finance and Operations will also coordinate strategic planning and review processes.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above and equally as important, the role involves providing support and capacity building to partners, particularly in Africa. It is a complex but rewarding task managing and overseeing multiple grant agreements and empowering the partners to take control of the project finances. This work involves building close working relationships with the Head of Partnerships and with project managers and finance people on the ground. This requires someone with good people skills who has experience and understands the challenges of working in the developing world.
