Ofir, our IT specialist, says people should push for flexible working hours, or work from home to reduce the pressure on roads and trains at peak times. It will also make your day more enjoyable with less stress.

Katy says we all need to walk more, “it’s very therapeutic, healthy and you can say good bye to road rage”. Arrange walking groups for your children going to school.

Get your bicycle working again. Guy recommends getting it serviced at a local bike shop, “most people don’t need a new top of the range model – getting your old bike repaired means fewer resources are needed to make a new bike, and the money spent on the repair and service stays in the local economy”.

Cut down on flying. Fiona is keen to help Gaia look at ways of reducing our own flights, especially to Africa (as a member of the African Biodiversity Network - ABN) with conference calling and coordination of several events and visits to be undertaken all in one go.
